Body works… Liposuction helps regain your waist.
Cosmetic laser and Liposuction Specialist Dr Daniel Lanzer, writes a weekly column for New Idea.
Liposuction has been with us for quiet a few years, and now there is a new liposuction technique, which has been tried on more than 15,000 patients in the United States.
This new technique, developed by dermatologists, is safer and more effective. Basically, this procedure involves filling up the fat with a very dilute local anesthetic liquid, before sucking up fat through a small nick in the skin.
The liquid numbs the fat, which means that there is less or no pain after the operation.
The liquid also closes up the little blood vessels so that there is no bleeding and never a requirement for a blood transfusion or intravenous fluid.
Also, the liquid is anti bacterial and this almost totally removes the risk of infection. After Liposuction surgery, there is a slight tenderness of the treated area but patients can usually return to work a few days after the procedure.

Contacting Dr Daniel Lanzer the specialist for perfecting the suture facelift, the pair organized an assessment.
One week later the twins were heading to Melbourne for the joint surgery, which would be performed in just over one hour. In the doctors Toorak surgery, the sisters headed to adjoining rooms where Dr Daniel Lanzer cosmetic laser and liposuction specialist, injected a local anesthetic into the side of the face, before putting a tiny “tacking stitch” into the muscle close to the chin.
This stitch was then threaded beneath the skins surface and pulled tight, lifting the muscle upwards from the chin before been hooked onto the cartilage in front of the ear. Then, after an antibiotic injection, the permanent procedure was complete.
As well as the Suture Lift the daring twins opted another “double” – Liposuction procedure to remove fatty deposits from their drooping chins.

LIPOSUCTION – “Today Tonight” channel 7
A patient - one of many women who just could not seem to shed that extra weight and “baby tummy” that was gained after pregnancy. She’d never managed to shed her layer of pregnancy fat and her son was now grown up. Since separating from her husband, she had been comfort eating, causing the problem to get even worse.
The Doctor then explained the procedure, which would be carried out by Melbourne Dr Daniel Lanzer cosmetic laser and liposuction specialist, using a treatment he had pioneered himself. This involved making little nicks in the skin and inserting a tiny tube into the layers of fat underneath.

| Fat sucked away by Liposuction “Women’s Day”
A preliminary meeting with Melbourne Cosmetic laser and liposuction specialist Dr Daniel Lanzer – who pioneered using mega liposuction to help over weight people – a woman decided to have her fat sucked away.
She was given a general anesthetic and taken to the operating theatre, where Dr Daniel Lanzer cosmetic laser and liposuction specialist siphoned a staggering five litres of fatty fluid from her stomach and chest area.
Inserting a narrow tube into tiny nicks, Dr Lanzer first injected a watery solution, which softened the fat and made it easier to siphon away, and reduced the risk of later infection. He then used a technique called superficial liposuction to drain fat from the deepest layer under the skin and right up to the topmost layer.

Body works… Body works… Downsize your seat with Liposculpture.
Probably the most common area’s on which liposuction is performed are the inner thighs and buttocks. It is in these areas that patients sometimes find it hard to determine exactly where they need the fat removed. One interesting test that is suggested to patients is to contract or tighten up their buttocks and have a look at the fat on the outer thighs. If the fat disappears into the bottom, then it is a sign the patient could have fat removed from the outer bottom as well as the outer thighs.
The tumescent liposuction technique includes infiltrating into the skin an extremely dilute local anesthetic solution. This liquid numbs and softens the fat and allows it to be sucked out using very fine, long needle like tubes that are attached to a suction machine. Using this technique, large amounts of fat can be removed in an operation. This procedure can be performed while the patient is awake or under a general anesthetic. Some patients actually prefer just to have light sedation.
It is recommend that patients wear a compression garment the following two weeks, which helps the fat and skin retract inwards. |
