CHEEK VOLUME REPLACEMENT
Dr Lanzer has been using a new type of injection specifically effective for filling cheeks.
With ageing some people loose the convex shape of the cheeks, cheekbones and chin which has become hollow or thin due to weight loss or age-related facial fat loss. With ageing many people develop a flatness of the cheeks and then a concave depression. Youthfulness in children is typically seen with a convex, curvy cheek. This can be seen by comparing a photograph of a child who has round full cheeks to the often drawn concave appearance in an elderly person. Of course there are many milder forms of thinning of the cheeks.
As we age, facial fat loss, gravity, and loss of the skin’s natural elasticity conspire to age the central face, leading to a narrower, less youthful cheek, forehead and temple area, and a wider, heavier jawline.
Fortunately, we can restore the face’s balance and heart-shaped proportions, revolumising facial hollows, lost volume and recontouring the cheeks, cheekbones, and nose for a fuller, softer, more youthful appearance.

Method
A small amount of local anesthetic is placed on the outer cheek and the filler is injected totally via one small needle incision. It can fill the cheeks and also give the cheek line more definition. It is different to other fillers in that it is placed very deep under the skin and is much thicker. The injections take just a few minutes
Results
The effect is seen immediately and makeup can be applied straight after the treatment. The results show that this filler can last around 18 months although there probably will be variations between patients.
Risks
As with all fillers a bruise may occur.
There is a variation between patients as to how long the filler lasts and allergy reactions are now very rare with the new fillers.

Combination
We believe that the best results of fillers is seen when skin rejuvenation therapy is combined. Today there are many non-invasive light sources and therapies that can help make the skin surface appear smoother, refreshed and tighter. Dr Lanzer finds that combining treatments is effective and may suggest treatments such as microdermabrasion, Revlite, Aura, Isolaz, Portrait or Dermaxel Fractional Laser.
Dr Lanzer has multiple Medi Day Spa clinics around Melbourne and the country that offer these therapies. A Medi Day spa combines the latest technology in cosmetic medical procedures with Beauty therapy advances. All of our beauty therapists are personally trained by Dr Lanzer.Cheek volume fillers may also be combined with the skin suture lift. The skin is elevated towards the outer cheeks by small sutures under the skin. Please see the section on this procedure.
Other fillers
The latest surface filler is the Airgent. Please see the section on this novel method of face skin, neck and hand rejuvenation.
Fillers can enhance the lips and depressions or folds and are often used with face muscle relaxants.
