"DERMAXEL" FRACTIONAL LASER

The Fractional Laser combines a CO2 laser with a unique fractional skin resurfacing technology to produce advanced fractional ablative and antiageing results.

Procedure

The laser targets water within the surface layers of the skin causing both the water and the surrounding tissue to vaporize but what is different to the usual ablative treatments is that the laser is delivered fractionally, that is some tissue is ablated and surrounding tissue is left intact. This allows healing to occur much more quickly than had the whole skin area been resurfaced The laser can make thousands of tiny regenerated columns into the skin. Since only some areas are touched with the laser the main effect of the laser is under the skin deep in the collagen layer rather than on the surface where its effects would cause more downtime.

What does it feel like?

The laser heats up and vaporizes skin so you will feel heat and a prickly sensation. As such we recommend topical anesthetic cream for an hour prior to your treatments.

What happens after my Fractional Laser treatment?

You skin may feel a sunburnt like effect for a few hours. There may be some swelling or pinpoint bleeding for a day or so and your skin will be pinkish for up to a week. Sometimes a fine crusty or bronze appearance may occur as your skin sheds the dead cells as it heals, rarely scabbing can occur.

How many treatments do I need?

This depends on your condition and should be discussed at your consultation. Usually 2-4 treatments at 2-4 week intervals are required. These treatments are often combined with other treatments for best results.

What conditions can be treated?

The Fractional Laser is used to treat acne scars, sun damage, aged sun spots, wrinkles and other scars. It is also used to improve skin tightening and texture and rejuvenate the skin
