Pigmentation

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

Pigmentation is a common issue for our beauty therapists in our new Medi Day Spa.

And the good news is that in most cases either our beauty therapists or our nurse and doctors can really help.

If the pigmentation is mostly freckles and lentigines, then our laser treatments are your best bet. We have laser treatments which target this pigmentation and crusts it and it just falls off after a few days. And you can still cover up with makeup so no real downtime.

Alternatively our beauty therapists can use peels and microdermabrasion cosmetic procedures in our Medi day spa which makes your skin feel wonderful as well.

When your pigmentation is chloasma it often has a hormonal component to it and we would begin with glycolic peels and hydroquinone. We have a 6% hydroquinone concentrated solution which we use as our depigmenting lotion. After a few of these we can also use our laser if it is needed.

If you have pigmentation you want to treat, come and see our beauty therapists in our Medi day spa or alternatively book in to see Dr Lanzer.

Microdermabrasion and peels are available in Malvern, GlenWaverly, Bentleigh, Ballarat, Werribee and Geelong.

From The Doctors Room - 2010

As has been typical in the field of cosmetic surgery and cosmetic medicine
there has been further significant developments again during this year.

The most exciting new approach in surgery has surely been the Hi Def
Liposculpture
method where I am able to produce the “six pack” look in men
and the sexy groove on the outside of the stomach in women. I learnt this
method with an exclusive group who travelled from America for a hand on
meeting in Japan and since have done hundreds of cases. This new
breakthrough was feature on two occasions on the Today Tonight program on Channel 7.

The Vaser, third generation ultrasound machine is combined with our
liposuction to help soften fat and tighten skin. Man boobs and large
stomachs do particularly well.

We are proud to announce the opening of our new MediDay Spas located in
Malvern, Glen Waverley, Bentleigh, Ballarat, Werribee and Geelong. The
approach is to combine the latest medical technology and advances with the most update beauty therapy treatments. This is ideal for face rejuvenation, pore cleansing, removal of face pigmentation and spots, body fat and cellulite and general relaxation therapies. I was featured this year on
Today Tonight regarding the non invasive treatments, especially in younger
patients.

New non surgical treatments include:

A new breakthrough has been our first laser for acne and deep pore
cleansing- the Isolaz. Its new and unique suction simultaneous with the
laser extrudes the bacteria and sebum. When combined with the Profusion
creams it is also very effective as an antiaging device on the underlying
collagen. This therapy was filmed by A Current Affairs of Channel 9.

The Velashape is the latest body smoothing treatment that combines
radiofrequency, infrared and deep rolling massage. It is very helpful after
liposculpture and also for cellulite and fat reshaping together with the
Ultrashape.

The Vibrasauna also helps with weight loss and cellulite and is a great
relaxation.

Our expert beauticians also offer relaxing massages, Danna Enzyme facials
and body wraps.

The new Voluma injection gives shape and youthfulness to the cheeks and last about 18 months.

This year The Today Tonight program also interviewed me with three most
interesting sisters. The eldest had done so well with the cosmetic surgery
makeover so her two sisters decided to follow her. The program showed their great results and also how they interacted.

Wishing you all good health,

Cosmetic Surgery Terminology

Friday, November 6th, 2009

One of the most confusing aspects of cosmetic surgery is terminology. Liposuction, Liposculpture, Mega liposuction, Laser liposuction, Vaser liposuction, lipolysis and such terms are often used and can hard to distinguish. The truth is that in many situations they mean the same thing. Liposuction is the removal of fat via a suction apparatus. The liposculpture is reshaping. A surgeon will always be sculpturing whilst he sucks and therefore liposculpture is really the same practically as liposuction. It just sound better! Dr Lanzer uses the word megaliposuction when he uses liposuction to assist in patients who are overweight. By removing many litres and changing the patients shape they stimulated to change their lifestyle also. With meg liposuction many litres of fat can be removed from many areas. Some patients who have mega liposuction  have had lap banding or other weight loss procedures.

Dr Lanzer published many years ago a study on safety of large volume liposuction.

Dr Lanzer Conducts Seminar On Hi Def Liposuction

Friday, November 6th, 2009

This month Dr Lanzer will be conducting a seminar one evening in Sydney on the new method of hi def Liposculpture. Dr Lanzer was the first in Australia to learn this new liposculpture procedure when he went to Japan this year. At the seminar prospective patients will have the opportunity to meet a patient who has had the liposuction and see first hand what can be accomplished. Dr Lanzer uses the new devises of Vaser to help mould and enhance the athletic appearance in both men and women.

Dr Lanzer says that even though he has done over 10,000 procedures the benefit of being able to offer this breakthrough is enormous.

For many patients a six pack or a natural stomach groove would have been totally impossible and now it is a realistic goal.

A Slice of Life - The Age.

An increasing number of young woman are opting for cosmetic surgery as ongoing “maintenance”. So what, exactly, do surgeons suggest for a typical 35 year old?
A woman went to find out, her first stop been Dr Daniel Lanzer cosmetic laser and liposuction specialist.
Dr Daniel Lanzer is a father of nine who believes that his wife still looks young and gorgeous even though she has never had any cosmetic surgery. However he uses his profession not only to make people look better, but help improve their self esteem.
Dr Daniel Lanzer explains to a patient, although she is skinny she still has those genetic (fat) deposits on her thighs, these can be very hard to remove with diet an exercise, and also the patient’s left hip was a little larger than her right side.
In an operation lasting an hour Dr Daniel Lanzer cosmetic laser and liposuction specialist could suck the saddlebags out, then trim a bit of the inner thigh so it didn’t look bumpy compared with the new flatter, outer one. He could also do a little liposculpture on the hips. This is the most common cosmetic procedure.
Dr Daniel Lanzer cosmetic laser and liposuction specialist has performed over 10,000 liposuctions in the last 17 years, with no deaths at his hands.
