Liposuction has become one of the most cosmetic procedures in the world. The most significant breakthrough was probably the introduction of the wet tumescent method by a Dermatologist some 20 years ago. Dr Lanzer helped convene a conference to teach that method in 1992 and it can be used to remove fat with either the patient awake or asleep. The fluid that is placed in the fat helps soften the fat and essentially stops bleeding. The body can be sculptured and is ideal for small bulges such as seen on the hips and outer thighs of women and stomachs and flanks of men.

New Areas:
The next advance was the recognition that many different areas are responsive to liposuction. What started for saddle bag removal could be replicated in any fatty area.

As the procedure became more common, dermatologists developed the concept of reshaping many areas in one sitting, body liposculpture. Many people battle weight reduction and are looking for a kick start. A rapid loss of 5-10 litres in one or two procedures can produce a dramatic change in the body shape.  Some patients actually enjoy looking at the fat removed! Most multiple procedures in stages are spaced between 1-4 weeks usually.

For The Heavy Breasts:
Dr Lanzer helped pioneer this method about 10 years ago. Women often complain of neck and back pain from the weight of large breasts. Not only do they become lighter and smaller with this key hole type surgery but the breasts contract and elevate. It is a procedure for all ages.

Man Boobs:
Men finally joined the liposuction interest. The most common area is the chest as a lot of men with large breast never expose themselves.
Men also want the so called “love handles” removed and stomachs.

Hi Def Liposculpture:
This year an entirely new concept came to Australia with the method of sculpturing around the stomach muscles to produce the “6 pack look” in men and the athletic grooves in women. The procedure has become extremely popular both in people who work out in the gym and those that never do so!

Vaser Liposuction:

Face Rejuvenation Liposuction:
Probably one of the most interesting areas of liposuction is the removal of fat from the neck and jowls. Dr Lanzer has been investigating personally the new state of the art Vaser for enhanced liposculpture. The third generation high frequency ultrasound is combined with the tumescent liposculpture method to enhance healing and results. Dr Lanzer explained that the Vaser targets the Fat only and so is safe.

The procedure can be done awake or asleep depending on patients preference.
Markings are done before the procedure as in regular liposculpture and particular attention is given to where the fat bulges and where extra skin contraction is needed.
The fat is filled with the tumescent fluid that was developed by co- dermatologist some 20 years ago. Dr Lanzer says that the fluid make liposuction much safer and allowed us to remove more fat and more evenly and from new areas such as the breast. At this point the Vaser is passed through the fat layer emulsifying it into a soft liquid which is then gently removed.
The Vaser not only liquefies the fat but also stimulates the collagen to tighten and contract.

The Vaser technology is also combined with the new concept of Hi Def whereby Dr Lanzer sculptures between muscle groups to enhance the athletic appearance. Men want them, women want men who have them, and it’s something money can’t buy…until now.

“Vaser Hi Def is a whole new approach to lipo-sculpture to men and women and what it does is produce an athletic look and high definition muscles,” said cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Daniel Lanzer.
